It’s been a long time …
It’s been a while - partly because practices have been a bit sparse recently, and partly because I, erm, destroyed the iPod touch which I used to post on here - but things are now back on track, practices are picking up again, and I’ve replaced my iPod.
Recent songs we’ve added include:
- Foo Fighters - My Hero
- Beastie Boys - Fight For Your Right (To Party)
And we’ve got a gig coming up on March 19 in the Harbour Bar in Gourdon :-)
Sore Throat
We had to cancel tonight’s practice beacuse the singer’s voice is knackered. He had an infection a couple of months ago and it got damaged and never properly recovered, so he’s having to take some time off now. Hopefully he’ll get better soon.
Fun
Had a fun practice last night. We’re trying to do some trickier (by our standards anyway) songs. We weren’t very sure of some of them going in, but while none of them were perfect, I think they were all better than we thought they’d be for a first attempt. We’ll keep working on them and hopefully at least some of them will work out. The songs were:
- Sum 41 - Fat Lip
- Limp Bizkit - Take a Look Around
- Alter Bridge - Metalingus
- Three Days Grace - Wake Up
Cancelled
Tonight’s practice was cancelled due to the snow - looks like it’ll be another couple of weeks before we can practice again :-(
Another good gig
Another good gig on Saturday night. Not as busy as the last one (the pub was mostly empty when we started playing), I completely messed up my sound (I had my Digitech pedal turned down to practising level so it just wasn’t driving the amp the way it should have been), and the bass player’s amp broke mid-gig, but by the third set things were rocking along and we were thorougly enjoying ourselves :-)
Last practice for a while
Had our last practice for three weeks last night - singer is away on holiday until then.
Got nine new songs to practice while he’s away though, including:
- Biffy Clyro - Bubbles
- Feeder - Buck Rogers
- Black Sabbath - Paranoid
- Ocean Colour Scene - Riverboat Song
- Weezer - Buddy Holly
Plus I need to go over everything else we know to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything :-)
Back to the Gas Lamp!
We’re back at the Gas Lamp at 9pm on Saturday 23rd of October.

We’re learning some great new songs from Biffy Clyro, Feeder, Black Sabbath, Linkin Park and others, so it should be a lot of fun :-)
We rock!
Gig went great last night! Sweaty, loud and fun! The crowd really enjoyed it, the venue want us back, the drummer nearly fainted at one point and my ears are still ringing - so results all round :-)
Final practice
Had the last practice before the gig tonight. Went okay - as well as can be expected considering it’s only our fifth practice with the new drummer.
Shattered now - time for a nice early night I think :-)
A gig! A gig!
We have another gig!
9pm on Saturday 11th of September at The Gas Lamp on Market Street in Aberdeen.

Auditions
Drummers auditioned - both good in different ways. Verdict soon …
Bummer
Unfortunately our drummer announced earlier this week that he was leaving us. This is a bit of a blow after months of practising, but we’re going to try to soldier on. We’ve got a couple of potential replacements lined up and we’ll be auditioning them next week. Hopefully one of them will work out and we can continue rocking.
More songs
Another good practice and a couple more new songs:
- The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary
- Alkaline Trio - Stupid Kid
Another good practice
Crazy was a bit ropey, but Peaches worked well :-)
Practice tonight
And trying some great new songs:
- Presidents of the USA - Peaches
- Seal - Crazy
